Discrete Power Supply

An isolated power supply is better at shielding the analog conversion / amplification circuitry from EMI from the power supply and vice versa.
The fully isolated power supply also contains power supply filtering and regeneration to fully isolate the FD5 from any “dirt” in the electricity grid.
The analog circuitry employs active noise suppression and voltage regulation technologies.
10 ELNA SILMIC II capacitors are used in the power supply section, yielding a warm sound with enveloping staging.

4x AK4493 DAC array

Utilizing not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 of AKM’s highly acclaimed AK4493 DAC chips, the FD5 use current mode amplification to obtain heavy-duty power output and astronomical S/N ratio.

Dual audio crystal oscillators, FPGA-based clock regeneration system

Equipped with 45.158MHz and 49.152MHz crystal oscillators separately responsible for 44.1kHz-based and 48kHz-based audio, (encompassing all PCM audio up to 768kHz and beyond as well as all DSD rates) the system effectively eliminates jitter and supplies the audio system with a highly precise clock source.

Hi-res Audio Support

Supports up to PCM 32/768 and DSD512 for format support in line with pro audio equipment and satisfying all consumer audio demands.

MQA 8X

8x unfold of MQA files, giving master-tape quality audio re-constitution, richer replay of the sound as intended—it’s a take-you-to-the-concert / studio experience!
